Iowa County Community Development is set to launch a façade/signage grant incentivizing businesses in Iowa County to make exterior building improvements or add/update signage.
“I often get inquiries from business owners asking if funding is available to make small improvements to their exteriors,” said ICCD Community Director Laura Sauser.
“Our board approved this program to nudge business owners to spruce up their facades or add/improve signage.”
The program is funded by reserved funds raised from the annual golf tournament and accrued interest money, said ICCD in a press release.
The application window opens March 1 and closes March 31. A 1:1 match is required for funds up to maximum of $5,000. Work must be completed by the end of the calendar year.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this program for our local businesses,” said Kristie Wetjen, ICCD Board president, in the press release.
“First impressions are so important, and unfortunately, façade and sign improvements are often difficult for small businesses to fund.”
Iowa County Community Development is a nonprofit organization that connects Iowa County businesses, organizations and individuals with the resources they need to start and grow their business in rural Iowa.
ICCD connects with federal, state, regional and local organizations for funding opportunities and focuses on the needs rural communities face, including child care, housing and workforce issues.
