Iowa County Fair begins July 16

MARENGO — The Iowa County Fair opens Wednesday, July 16 with the crowing of fair royalty and the opening of exhibits.
The Iowa County Fair Queen and Little Mr. and Miss will be crowned at 6 p.m., and the Friend of the Fair will be announced.
Zentmire Exhibits are open from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and beginning at 9 a.m. each day after.
A luau, presented by the Trailblazers, begins at 7 p.m.
Animal shows begin Thursday morning, July 17. The dairy goat, meat goat and sheep shows begin at 9 a.m.
The rabbit show takes place at 1 p.m.
Working exhibits begin at noon.
The Master Gardeners will present their daily show at 3 p.m.
The fair board supper begins at 5 p.m.
The Pee Wee bucket bottle show starts at 6 p.m.
Trivia night at the fair begins at 7 p.m.
Animal shows begin again Friday, July 17. The swine and Pee Wee swine shows and horse show begin at 9 a.m., and the poultry show at 11 a.m.
Master Gardners present their daily show at 3 p.m.
The 4-H/FFA bucket bottle calf show begins at 4 p.m., and the Pee Wee lamb and goat shows begin at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 18, the breeding beef show begins at 9 a.m., followed by the market beef show.
At 10 a.m., FFA/4-H present fun and games.
A watermelon feed is scheduled for noon.
A kiddie pedal pull is set for 1 p.m., and the Pee Wee horse show follows at 2 p.m.
Ladora Saddle Club will host an ice cream social at 2 p.m.
RS Welding Studio brings a bubble machine to the fair from 4-6 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, the all-around showman will be announced. Sam Roberts will provide music at 7 p.m., and the Duke Oursler Band will play from 8-11 p.m.
The fair ends Sunday, July 20 with the fair board appreciation breakfast at 9 a.m., ag Olympics at 11 a.m., awards and scholarships at 1:30 p.m. and the livestock sale at 3 p.m.
