Mar. 8, 2023 1:29 pm
In February, the Iowa County Master Gardeners presented a $500 check to the HLV Area Community Food Pantry in Victor. Pictured are Karla Robison, left, and Joan Robinson, right. The money will be used to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables. This food pantry is open to HLV area residents from 5-7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. (Courtesy photo)
Iowa County Master Gardener Joan Robinson, left, recently presented Annie Trumpold with the Amana Community Food Pantry a check for $500. The money will be used to purchase fresh produce for the pantry, which is operated out of the church in Middle Amana. There are two food giveaways monthly, the second Wednesday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m. and the last Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The main source of goods for the pantry is HACAP but all fresh produce or food donations are much appreciated. Each recipient receives a bag of food averaging 35 lbs. The pantry contributes over 1,600 pounds of food a month, to an average of 48 houses/107 people. (Courtesy photo)
