Spring is almost here, along with warmer weather, longer days and camping season.
We have been very busy making improvements in the campground and around the Lake Iowa Park, cleaning up trees and invasive plants to improve the view of the lake from the campground with the long-term goal of allowing the native prairie grasses and forbs to be the dominant flora again.
We also got more aggressive trimming up the trees around the campground’s roads, which improves access for campers.
We are continuing to upgrade the 50-amp service in the campground. These upgrades should be done by May and ready to enjoy for years to come.
This year we are raising the camping fees for in-season (May-September) electric sites. The rates will increase from $16 to $20 per night.
Non-electric (tent camping) will stay the same, $10 for in-season camping.
In the future we are planning to upgrade the water access and infrastructure.
