Iowa Valley 4th at Colfax-Mingo

Iowa Valley placed fourth at the 19-team Colfax-Mingo Tournament Saturday, Jan. 20.

Breanna Peach won the title at 235 pounds, pinning her way through the bracket.

Claire Smolik (140) and Raelen Hawkins (170) finished runners-up. All the Tigers that competed placed in the top five.

“They are all wrestling really well right now,” Iowa Valley Coach Jeremy Kriegel said. “I think every one of them are excited to get a chance to punch their ticket to state (on Friday).”

The Mid-Prairie Tournament slated for Monday, Jan. 15, was canceled.
