Iowa Valley 5 – Montezuma 4
Iowa Valley started the week with a 5-4 win over Montezuma. The Braves scored two in the top of the third, and two more in fifth to take a 4-0 lead. The Tigers mounted a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth to close within one and then sealed the deal with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off.
IV scored its five runs on 17 hits including a Nolan Kriegel home run and a Zayden Keim triple. Beau Long got the win on the mound by throwing two innings. Caleb Haack threw 12 strikeouts in five innings of work.
Iowa Valley 0 – HLV 1
A pitchers dual broke out Wednesday at HLV (3-4) as the Warriors broke a 0–0 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning and then hung on for the 1-0 win.
HLV’s Camden Kennebeck pitched a shut out giving up just one hit and posting five strikeouts. Iowa Valley’s Nolan Kriegel gave up five hits and struck out seven in six innings.
Iowa Valley 3 – North Mahaska 5
Iowa Valley (4-4) fell to North Mahaska 5–3 on Thursday in New Sharon. The Warhawks had hot bats early scoring two in the first and three more in the second to go up 5–0. The Tigers charged back with two runs of its own in the third and added another in the fifth while holding North Mahaska (8-5) scoreless.
Beau Long had three hits and an RBI to lead IV at the plate. North Mahaska’s Nash Smith had two hits, two RBIs and home run for the Warhawks.
The Tigers Owen Bral pitched six innings giving up five runs on three hits with no strikeouts.
Iowa Valley 0 – Lynnville-Sully 13
A hot Lynnville-Sully team (13-0) traveled to Marengo Friday night and shut out Iowa Valley (4-5). The Hawks bats connected early bringing in four runs in the top of the first. L-S scoring continued with five more runs in the second, two in the third and two more in the fourth. The scoring ended there with the Hawks taking the 13-0 victory.
Caleb Haack and Nolan Kriegel both got on base for the Tigers but were not able to get around the bases to score. IV’s Beau Long gave up nine runs on nine hits before turning the ball over to Caden Knapp who surrendered the final four runs on seven hits.
