Montezuma wins big over Twin Cedars

NORTH ENGLISH — Eight-player No. 4 Iowa Valley moved to 7-0 and clinched the District 5 football title with a 71-26 win over English Valleys Friday.
In the Tigers’ four district wins so far, they have won by a total of 218 points. They will play WACO Friday, looking to complete an undefeated regular season.
Seven different players scored touchdowns for Iowa Valley in the win over the Bears.
Nolan Kriegel threw for a score, caught one and rushed for four more, totaling 104 rushing yards.
Owen Ary recovered a fumble and returned it for a 25-yard score. Chance Hoyt had 4 1/2 tackles for loss.
English Valleys (4-3) will be at Meskwaki (0-7) to cap off the regular season.
Montezuma 82, Twin Cedars 8
MONTEZUMA — Twin Cedars was no match for Montezuma in this 8-player District 7 matchup.
The Braves scored 40 in the first quarter and scored a TD in all three phases in this one.
Brady Boulton scored on offense, defense and special teams. Boulton threw for 118 yards with three TDs, had a 45-yard pick-six and returned a punt for a 60-yard score.
Broox Stockman had a big night on the ground rushing for 152 yards, highlighted by a 78-yard TD run. The Braves ran for 359 as a team.
Four different players had receiving TDs.
Montezuma (5-2) concludes the regular season Friday at Baxter.
Winterset 29, Williamsburg 0
WINTERSET — In a battle of 3-3 teams in 3A District 5, Winterset shut out the Raiders Friday at home.
The Huskies rushed for 301 yards in the win.
Four teams are now 2-1 in district play, making for an interesting final two weeks waiting to see what two teams in District 5 clinch automatic playoff berths.
Williamsburg (3-4) will be at home against Knoxville (1-5) Friday.
BGM 17, New London 0 (FORFEIT)
With New London canceling the rest of its season three games in due to low numbers, BGM received a win by forfeit.
The forfeiture put the Bears at 5-2 on the season. They’ll face North Mahaska (3-4) in the regular season finale Friday at home.
