MARENGO — The Iowa Valley Tiger Beat Bands want to give used instruments new life.
Iowa Valley will host an Instrument Donation Drive Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 3:15-6:15 p.m. to continue building its instrument inventory and support its growing band, said Iowa Valley Tiger Beat Music Department in a press release.
The school has several students in need of instruments, the department said.
Anyone may donate instruments in any condition. Even if the instruments appear unplayable, Iowa Valley wants them. Many instruments can be repaired and put to great use, the music department said.
The donation drive will take place in the Iowa Valley band and choir room.
The music department can provide a general estimate of the value of the instruments for tax purposes.
Anyone who wants to donate but can’t make it to the school Nov. 5 should email Tiger Beat at ivtigerbeat@gmail.com, Michelle Grant at mgrant@ivcsd.org or Levi Cowan at lcowan@ivcsd.org to arrange a time to drop off instruments.
