IOWA VALLEY AT BGM
Iowa Valley’s Dakota Petersen lead her team at the plate with two hits and an RBI and on the mound with five strike outs, but it wasn’t enough as BGM beat the Tigers 5-2 on Monday, June 12.
The Bears (8-8) set the tone early scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and two more in the third. The Iowa Valley (7-9) bats woke up a little in the fourth by putting two runners across the plate. BGM scored one more in its half of the inning to effectively seal the deal.
IV’s Lydia Kriegel pitched two scoreless innings giving up no hits and no runs with one strikeout. Kriegel and Hannah Leonard each had one hit.
COLFAX-MINGO AT IOWA VALLEY
A twelve run sixth inning by Colfax Mingo was too much for Iowa Valley as the Tigerhawks cruised to a 20-2 victory Wednesday in Marengo. Colfax moved to 10-6 on the season, Iowa Valley fell to 7-9.
It was close early. C-M scored once in the top of the first and once in the second to take an early 2-0 lead, but the Tigers answered with a two run second. The teams entered the third tied, but then the Tigerhawks caught fire scoring three, two, one in the third, fourth and fifth innings respectively before the big sixth ended the game.
Iowa Valley scored its two runs on six hits including a pair of hits each from Izzy Kriegel and Dakota Pedersen.
IOWA VALLEY AT COLO-NESCO
Iowa Valley traveled West to Colo-Nesco on Thursday and came home with the 6-3 win.
The Royals (6-11) got on the board first, in the first, with one run in the bottom of the inning. Iowa Valley (8-10) wasn’t going to let this one get away from them. The Tigers scored three in the second, two more in the third and an insurance run in the sixth. Colo also scored one in the third and finished its scoring with one in the fifth.
Dakota Pedersen went the distance in the pitcher’s circle giving up just fours hits and striking out four. Pedersen also hit a pair a singles to help her cause.
KEOTA AT IOWA VALLEY
Iowa Valley made quick work of an overmatched Keota squad on Friday night. The Tigers stormed out to 15 run first inning, added seven more in the second and shut it down in the third to end the game by mercy rule 22-2 in three.
The Keota (0-12) pitchers couldn’t find the strike zone giving up 20 walks versus three strike outs resulting in Iowa Valley (9-10) needing just three hits for its 22 runs. The Tiger’s Dakota Pedersen gave up four hits allowing for two Keota runs in the first inning.
