CEDAR RAPIDS — Workers laid off by Kinze Manufacturing last week may find help at Iowa Works, at 4444 First Ave. NE #436 in Cedar Rapids.
Iowa Works will host a job fair Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 1-3 p.m. The hiring event will feature top companies across the region hiring for welding, material handling and assembly.
Employers include PMX, Intrnational Paper, Iowa Interstate Railroad and New Leader Manufacturing.
Workshops for unemployment insurance information are set for Aug. 26. The workshops will offer general information about when to file, how to file, how to complete ID.me and how to file weekly claims.
Workshops will begin hourly from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. excluding noon.
Those attending the workshop should not file an initial claim until Sept. 1, Iowa Workforce said.
