GRINNELL — More than 130 Iowans gathered at the Called to Climate conference, hosted by Iowa Faith & Climate Network, over the weekend at Grinnell College.
The conference helped explore the intersection of faith and climate action through workshops, presentations and community building, according to a press release.
The “Called to Climate” conference brings together Iowans of diverse faith and spirituality who care about the environment, said the press release.
A statewide non-profit founded in 2006, Iowa Faith & Climate Network (formerly known as Iowa Interfaith Power & Light) equips individuals and communities with resources to take climate action.
The Rev. Melanie Mullen delivered the keynote address, and workshop attendees chose from five workshop options. Sessions covered community organizing, congregational projects, faith-based climate language, Meskwaki Nation land stewardship and agricultural storytelling, the press release said.
