Iowa’s Rosie the Riveters are subject of library talk

MARENGO — Linda Betsinger McCann will be speaking about her newest book, “Rosie the Riveters of Iowa” at the Marengo Library Thursday, March 5 at noon.
The public is invited to attend. The library is located at 235 E. Hilton St. in Marengo.
McCann has published 12 books of Iowa history. She was surprised at what she learned about Rosies' while researching this book, according to a press release. There were 70 companies with military contracts in Iowa during World War II. McCann was able to speak with 50 women who had worked as Rosies' during the war. She shares their memories during speaking events.
