IV junior high wins state track championship

Iowa Valley won the Iowa Association of Track Coaches (IATC) state championship for the eighth grade small school division at Waukee High School on May 6. With Iowa Valley trailing Mount Ayr by 4 points, Chance Hoyt came through with a clutch third place performance in the 200M hurdles (27.87 time) and scored 6 points, which put Iowa Valley in the lead by 2 points to win the team championship.

Nolan Kriegel won the shot put on his last throw of 43’8.75,” placed second on the discus at 129’11,” 8th in the 400M dash with a time of 57.79 seconds and ran on the 3rd place boys distance medley with Dane Smith, Layne Peska and Lane Chvala.

The IV 4x200M relay team of Lane Chvala, Dane Smith, Chance Hoyt and Layne Peska won first place at 1.42.64 at a school record time. Layne Peska placed 5th in the 100M dash at a time of 12.73. Coaches are Shawn Huedepohl, Jon Sherman And Chad Peska.
