AMANA – The Amana Colonies will show off everything they have for children during Kinder Day Saturday, July 12.
Whether it’s panning for gold at The Noble Stone with the Iowa Gold Panning Club, crafting your own coffee filter butterfly at Creative Colony or creating your own egg carton caterpillar and box fort at Ackerman Winery, there is a ton to see and do.
Many local businesses will have games, crafts and prizes for children of all ages.
The Market Barn will host games, The Balloon Guy, Regan’s Face Painting and a magician. Children can participate in the Kid Olympics, which will have a range of fun, competition-style games.
Miracles in Motion will be at the Market Barn from 11 a.m. to noon. They will have two miniature ponies and a booth set up to explain their mission and take donations.
Barnyard Discoveries will be at the Market Barn from noon to 2 p.m. with a variety of farm animals to meet, pet and learn about. Wild West Dogs will serve hot dogs and nachos from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Snow Nouveau will serve cold treats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A lot of hands-on craft projects will keep the kids busy all day long.
