WILLIAMSBURG — Kirkwood Community College will conduct its Iowa County Leadership Council meeting Feb. 26, from 4-5:30 p.m., at Kirkwood’s Iowa County Center in Williamsburg.
Kirkwood President Kristie Fisher, college officials, local community leaders and members of the general public will attend.
The meeting will be the second for the County Leadership Council, which brings key stakeholders together for a conversation about how Kirkwood’s resources are used in their communities and how the college can address other needs.
The discussion will center on the institution's workforce and training efforts in Iowa County, and college leaders would like to hear ideas about how the college can further serve their region.
According to Kirkwood Iowa County Center Associate Director Michael Jacobsen, the meeting is an opportunity for the college and the residents of Iowa County to work together to address the educational and workforce needs of those that live in the area.
“This meeting is all about collaboration and making sure Kirkwood’s workforce training efforts truly meet the needs of Iowa County,” said Jacobsen.
“Hearing directly from community members and local leaders helps us shape our programs that support both the businesses and the people that live here. Our goal is to provide the right training and resources to help people succeed. We look forward to a great discussion and new ideas on how we can make an even bigger impact.”
The Kirkwood Iowa County Center is located at 200 West St. in Williamsburg.
The college plans to hold two County Leadership Council meetings per year, in the fall and spring.
