Democrat Bob Krause has officially announced his candidacy for United States Senator. He is officially withdrawing from the U.S. House race primary in Iowa’s First District to do so, according to a press release issued this month.
“Sen. Ernst’s withdrawal from the Republican Senate Race was a card that was not previously on the table, and I now endorse Christina Bohannan to be the Democratic nominee in Iowa’s First District. I have run for the U.S. Senate before and have many friends across the state and believe this will be a better fit for an ultimate victory,” said Krause in a press release.
Krause served in the U.S. Army Reserve and Iowa Army National Guard, according to his bio. He is a former state representative, a former school board member and a Carter appointee to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Region 7.
Krause was an Iowa DOT planner and president of the Veterans National Recovery Center. He was raised on a farm and participated in 4-H, the press release says.
