Labor committee cleans up code

I hope you are surviving the cold weather with little to no problems.
We just completed our second week of the session, which was shortened by the MLK holiday Monday.
I had my first subcommittee meeting Wednesday from my Labor & Workforce committee for HSB 18, which intends to do some Iowa code cleanup dealing with the Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing.
We passed it, and now it’s on to the full Labor & Workforce Committee for consideration.
On Wednesday, the Capitol had a sea of blue coats — otherwise known as probably over 100 chapters of the Iowa FFA. From District 84, the FFA chapters that I had a chance to visit with were Benton Community, Vinton-Shellsburg, and North Linn.
It’s great to see the future of farming in Iowa is in good hands.
