Lint wins 120-pound title at BGM Holiday Brawl

BROOKLYN — Both BGM wrestling teams kicked off 2026 with its home Holiday Brawl.
On the girls side was a traditional style tournament with 11 competing teams.
BGM’s Amiah Lint took home the title at 120 pounds with three wins by fall, all in under 45 seconds.
Shyla VanNevel (125) and Claire Neuhaus (140) each finished third as the Bears finished with 70 team points.
The boys competed in a dual tournament.
BGM went 2-3 in duals.
The Bears picked up wins over Moravia, 41-36, and Baxter, 42-30.
In the close match with Moravia, Sully Thompson clinched the dual with a pin at 190 pounds.
Brock York went 5-0 for BGM at 157, with three bonus point victories. Hunter Hodina (132) and Hunter Nusbaum (150) each went 3-2.
Megan Black Invitational
EDDYVILLE — The Iowa Valley girls finished seventh with 103 points with 12 wrestlers Friday in Eddyville.
Skyler Hoyt won her first three matches by fall to advance to the final at 125. Class 1A No. 8 Kendra Krause of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont defeated Hoyt in the final.
Raelene Hawkins finished third at 170.
