Logan man dies in crash

MONTEZUMA — A Logan man died in a one-vehicle accident when a tire failed on his dump truck, causing him to lose control.
The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the 1600 block of Highway 85 east of Montezuma.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Christopher Phillip Hudnut, 52, was driving a 1996 Peterbilt dump truck loaded with gravel west on Highway 85 when the dump truck had a tire failure, causing Hudnut to lose control.
The truck went into the ditch on the south side of the road, and Hudnut, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
