Man drowns at Lake Iowa
Iowa County divers recovered the body of Eric Matthew Richenberger, 43, of Wellman at Lake Iowa last month after report of a possible drowning.
Law enforcement received a call about 4 p.m. July 28 that a man who had been swimming near the beach could no longer be found, said the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department in a news release.
Park officials, Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies, Iowa County Rescue, Iowa County Ambulance Service, Millersburg Quick Response Service and the Iowa County dive team responded to the emergency.
Just after 5 p.m., divers recovered the body, and Richenberger was pronounced dead.
The body was sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.
