Market trends to be highlighted at ISU northeast research farm

AMES — Kevin Humke, Midwest regional sales manager of TeeJet, Wes Everman, extension weed science specialist and Chad Hart, extension crop marketing specialist, will speak at the annual meeting of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association at the Borlaug Learning Center, Iowa State University Northeast Research Farm, in Nashua March 18.
Humke will begin his presentation “Nozzles 101 for Proper Tip Selection, Operation and Recognizing Good Spray Practices” at 10 a.m.
In the next hour, Everman and Arti Singh, associate professor in the Department of Agronomy at ISU, will discuss the use of AI in agricultural pest management.
During lunch, Ken Pecinovsky, farm superintendent, will review 2025 research trial results conducted at the Northeast Research Farm, and Kendall Lamkey, associate dean of facilities and operations, will give an update and overview of the ISU research farms.
A complimentary meal will be served at noon, sponsored by TeeJet and the Iowa Corn Growers Association.
Hart will wrap up the presentations at 1 p.m. and share his insights on agricultural price outlook on grains and livestock.
Following Hart’s presentation, the NEIAEA board of directors will meet.
The day’s sessions qualify for three free certified crop adviser credits — two pest management and one crop management.
The meeting free and open to the public. The program will be held at the Borlaug Learning Center on the ISU Northeast Research Farm.
