Montezuma’s ‘Let Freedom Ring’ celebration is July 5

MONTEZUMA — A parade, breakfast served by the shooting sports club, famous Lions chicken barbecue, bounce houses, fireworks at Lake Ponderosa and more highlight the 2025 Montezuma “Let Freedom Ring” Celebration slated for Saturday, July 5.
The parade kicks off the day’s activities at 9:30 a.m., running from the school’s north parking lot south along Fourth Street before turning west on Main Street and then south on Third Street.
The parade lineup at the school runs from 7:30 — 9 a.m. No preregistration is required.
Activities
Parade: leaves the high school north parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Parade Marshal this year is Harold Wheeler, community and school supporter and business owner.
Food: Montezuma Shooting Sports Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at the fire station, 7 — 10 a.m. Monte Lions Club famous chicken barbecue at Memorial Hall, 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. Two carry-out service lines will be available as well as inside dining. Yolanda’s, Vivarium, Road Trip Coffee, Monte Nutrition, Pink Truffle Bake Shop, Star Lanes, Sauce’d, Eatery Island food truck, Katie’s Mini Dounts, Paparoni’s, Old Fashioned Spirits, cotton candy, kettle corn, lemonade, snow cones and more.
After the parade: bounce houses, foam party, face painting, dunk tank, kids’ games, craft vendors, Stella Rose Boutique, Chic Sisters Boutique, basketball trailer Permalinx jewelry and more.
Fireworks: at Lake Ponderosa at Dusk.
