GRINNELL — Brenda Goodner has joined UnityPoint Health—Grinnell Manatt Walk-In Clinic.
Goodner will see walk-in patients on the first floor of the Ahrens Medical Arts Building at 202 Fourth Avenue in Grinnell, adjacent to Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
Goodner joins Angelique Deright, Becca Driscoll and Lisa Smith in practice at the walk-in clinic.
Goodner received her undergraduate degree at Upper Iowa University and an advanced registered nurse practitioner degree from Allen College. Goodner is transferring to UnityPoint Health-Grinnell from UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge where she provided acute care in a primary care setting.
“As a nurse practitioner, my mission is to provide patient-centered care that emphasizes education, empowerment and collaboration,” says Goodner.
“I believe that health care extends beyond treating an illness. It’s about guiding patients toward achieving and maintaining optimal wellness. By fostering open communication and trust, I strive to create a therapeutic environment where patients feel seen, heard and actively involved in their care.”
When she’s not working, Goodner enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeremy, her daughter and their labradoodle. She likes going for walks, attending her daughter’s volleyball matches, watching college sports and enjoying lake activities.
“I have many years of experience with UnityPoint Health and it just feels like home,” Goodner said.
“We are truly a team working together in the best interest of our patients.”
Goodner, and her colleagues at Grinnell’s Walk-In Clinic, see patients with acute care and minor medical issues such as respiratory, stomach or urinary issues, head, ear, eye and skin conditions or minor injuries.
The Walk-In Clinic provides quick, convenient care so patients can resolve minor medical issues without going to the emergency department or when primary care offices are closed. It is not meant to replace your primary care provider but serves as a bridge when your regular provider is not available.
The Walk-In Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. Visit unitypoint.org/Grinnell/walk-in-care for more information.
