Public hearing set
MARENGO — The City of Marengo will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, Dec. 13 to hear comments about a proposed amendment to the animal ordinance regarding horse manure clean-up following parades.
The public hearing will take place during the 6 p.m. city council meeting in the city council chambers at City Hall. The council is proposing to change the ordinance to exempt horses in parades from the public defecation violation.
Students make dean's list
DAVENPORT – Trystin Stille, of Grinnell, and Sabrina Van Sant, of New Sharon, were named to the 2023 summer trimester dean’s list at Palmer College of Chiropractic's Main Campus in Davenport.
Mariah Fillenworth of Marengo, also made the list.
Author visits Tiffin library
TIFFIN – New York Times best-selling author Jerry Craft will visit Springmier Library in Tiffin Friday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m.
The children’s author and illustrator will chat with visitors about writing and about his work.
Craft won the Newbery Medal for his graphic novel “New Kid” about a child starting over at a new school The series has been honored with the Coretta Scott King Author Award.
