Cattlemen name new CEO
AMES — The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association named Bryan Whaley its new Chief Executive Officer, it announced recently. Whaley will take his post Dec. 4.
Whaley most recently worked as the Director of Field Operations — North for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Before that, he was a regional extension education director for more than seven years, the Association said.
Whaley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College and a master's degree in agriculture education from Iowa State University.
Whaley and his family own and operate Whaley Cattle in Eagle Grove, raising Maine Anjou and Maine Angus seedstock. Whaley is serving as the current president and board member of the Iowa Maine Anjou Association.
Williamsburg woman performs at Concordia
SEWARD, Neb. — Lydia Armbrecht of Williamsburg was one of several students who performed during Concordia University, Nebraska's Fall 2023 Composers Recital this month.
Armbrecht was one of six students who performed an original composition during the Nov. 7 program
A junior, Armbrecht composed "Now the Light Has Gone Away/Night Theme" and performed the piece on piano, accompanied by Anna Royuk, a senior from Seward, Nebraska, on violin.
