Morrow named to president's list
IOWA CITY — Macy Morrow of Belle Plaine was among more than 950 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the president's list for the 2023 fall semester.
Morrow is an undergraduate, third-year student in Iowa's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is majoring in psychology.
Area students make U of I dean’s list
IOWA CITY — More than 7,900 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the dean's list for the 2023 fall semester.
Area students who made the list are Adrian Rodriguez and Dalton Diers, of Ainsworth; Jaret Sandersfeld, Oliver Mize, Regan Sandersfeld, Harrison Garber, Kaley Grimm, Riley Morrison, Aubray Walters, Abigail Whitehall and Megan Rathjen of Williamsburg; and Ronan Peach and Jordan Collingwood, of Marengo.
Also, Gunther Sandersfeld, Ellen Austin, Addison Brown and Jack Ward, of Amana; Gabrielle Bedford and Cody Solberg, of Homestead; Macy Morrow, of Belle Plaine; Cassandra Parsons, of South Amana; Chelsea Bouslog, of South English; Abigail Garringer, of North English; and Annamarie Wagner, of Oxford.
Dooley graduates Wartburg
WAVERLY — Gavin Dooley, of Belle Plaine, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and fitness studies from Wartburg College in December.
Wartburg awarded diplomas to 58 students during its December commencement. Wartburg College, a four-year liberal arts college that enrolls about 1,500 students.
Mount Mercy names December graduates
CEDAR RAPIDS — Lilly Parrott, of Belle Plaine, and Jolynne Schnebbe, of Victor, graduated from Mount Mercy University in December.
Parrott graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, summa cum laude.
Schnebbe earned a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude.
Mount Mercy University is a regional Catholic university in Cedar Rapids.
Iowa Lakes releases honors list
Iowa Lakes Community College released its fall honors lists recognizing students who earned inclusion on the president’s and dean’s lists.
Raynee LeGrange and Trinity LaGrange, of Amana, and Reid Nowotny, of Brooklyn, were named to the dean’s list.
Brooklyn’s Amy Larson was named to the president’s list.
The president’s list honors students who recorded 4.0 grade-point averages, and the dean’s list recognizes students who earned a 3.25 or higher GPA.
Shinefield named to dean’s list
GALESBURG, Ill. — Aaron Shinefield, from Grinnell, has been named to the Knox College dean's list of distinguished students for the 2023 fall term.
To be named to the dean's list, a student must have earned at least 2.5 credits in the term, with a grade-point average of 3.6 or better on a 4.0 scale.
Grinnell students make Olaf dean’s list
NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The following students from Grinnell made the fall 2023 dean’s list at St. Olaf College: Andrew Cogley, Thea Larsson, Kayla Sieck, Sandra Skouson and Molly Turley.
St. Olaf College is a residential liberal arts institution with an enrollment of more than 3,000 students offering over 85 undergraduate majors, concentrations and pre-professional tracks.
University of Dubuque releases dean’s list
DUBUQUE — Cassie Wolinsky, of Kalona, and Kyla Roberts, of Ladora, were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Dubuque.
Full-time students who have earned 12 or more letter grade credits for the term and maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 are named to the dean’s list.
Students named to Mount Mercy dean’s list
CEDAR RAPIDS — The following student were named to Mount Mercy University's fall dean’s list. Students with a semester grade-point average of 3.60 or better and who are graded for six or more semester hours are eligible for inclusion on the list.
Making the list were Mary Macumber and Trey Schulte, of Amana; Mandy Chizek, Lilly Parrott and Olivia Schanbacher, of Belle Plaine; Matthew Zug, of Grinnell; and Breanna cook and Breanna Shaull, of Hartwick.
Also, Samantha Tinnes and Molly Yoder, of Kalona; Kallie Robinson, of Malcom; Amelia Frimml and Isabel Patterson, of Marengo; Morgan Rhinehart and Jolynne Schnebbe, of Victor; Tory Boyse, of Wellman; and Ruth Jennings, of Williamsburg.
Local students on Simpson lists
INDIANOLA — Simpson College named 209 students to its fall dean’s list. Students named to the list achieved a GPA between 3.70 and 3.99.
On the list are Marcus Kolesar, of Victor; Kate Kriegel, of Grinnell; and Abby Pope, of Deep River.
Making the president’s list, with 4.0 grade-point averages were Elise Boulton, Dylan Holland and Jalayna Shipley, of Montezuma, and Trace Goemaat, of New Sharon.
Doty makes dean’s list
DECORAH — Maci Doty, of Marengo, made the dean’s list at Luther College for the fall 2023 semester.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
