Amana welcomes magician
AMANA — TKM Theatrical Productions is sponsoring Jackson Green Magician at the Amana Performing Arts Center March 15.
Green is known for his mystifying, close-up card magic, said TKM in a news release.
Green has been enthusiastic about magic for his entire life and spent most of his teen years learning and practicing everything he could. He frequently performs at coffee shops, birthday parties, corporate events, weddings, sporting events and on morning TV programs while working as a software developer, TKM says.
The family-friendly show begins at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at 39 38th Ave. in Amana. Tickets are $15. Group rates are available. Email deborahkennedy@live.com for information.
Grinnell woman on dean’s list
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Kara West, a women and gender studies, psychology and Spanish major from Grinnell, was named to Augustana College's fall semester dean's list.
The college named more than 1,100 to the dean’s list for the 2023-2024 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Platteville releases student list
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville released its dean's list, honoring full-time students who earned high grades in the fall 2023 semester.
From Brooklyn, Emmett Taylor, a civil engineering student, made the list. Electrical engineering student Thaddeus Shetler, of Wellman, made the chancellor’s list for earning a 4.0 grade-point average.
DMACC student earns 4.0 GPA
Des Moines Area Community College president’s list included a student from Williamsburg.
Michelle Zirkel was recognized on the list for earning a 4.0 grade-point average during the fall 2023 semester.
Drake releases dean’s list
DES MOINES — Local students have been named to the deans' and president's lists at Drake University.
Erin Nicklas, of Grinnell, and Liv Poock, of Kalona, made the president’s list, and Hannah March, of North English was named to the dean’s list.
