Stallman graduates
DUBUQUE — The University of Dubuque conducted a Master of Science in physician assistant studies commencement ceremonies in December.
Allissa Stallman, of Grinnell, earned her master’s degree.
Doty participates in spring internship
PELLA, — Central College student Megan Doty, of Grinnell, is participating in a spring internship with The Well in Knoxville.
Doty, a psychology major, is a member of the Central Class of 2023.
Frederick, Tews on Bradley dean's list
PEORIA, Ill. — Haylee Frederick of Williamsburg is among nearly 1,850 students named to Bradley University’s fall dean’s list.
Also on the list is Maci Tews, of Grinnell.
To be eligible, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.
Victor student earns honor
MANHATTAN, Kan. — Meredith Schnebbe, of Victor, is one of more than 4,480 Kansas State University students who earned semester honors for their academic performance in the fall 2023 semester.
Students earning a grade-point average for the semester of 3.75 or above on at least 12 graded credit hours receive semester honors and commendations from their deans.
Burke makes president’s list
LA CROSSE, Wisc. — Brianna Burke, of Amana, was named to Western Technical College's President's List of High Distinction for the fall 2023 term.
To be included on the president's list, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and carry six or more credits in an associate degree or technical diploma program.
Dancing raises $1.4 million for children’s hospital
IOWA CITY ---- More than 1,100 University of Iowa students participated in the 30th annual student-led dance marathon, generating more than $1.4 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Among the participants were Jane Collum and Abigail Burchland, of Gilman; Ethan Cruikshank, of Tama; Mashayla Doty, Bridget Blanchard and Haidyn Hull, of Grinnell.
The final tally raised by the students was $1,454,929, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the course of its 30-year history to more than $35 million.
