Marengo woman graduates Loras College
DUBUQUE — A Marengo woman is one of many students to graduate from Loras College in Dubuque last month.
Katie Krakow graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.
Central students receive Alpha Zeta Mu honors
PELLA — Central College recently recognized students who earned Alpha Zeta Mu honors in the spring semester.
Area students were Olivia Bohlen, of Belle Plaine; Benjamin DeMeulenaere, of Chelsea; Katelyn Hofmaster, of North English; Lauryn Venema, of Amana; and Cally Gibbs, Landon Kirby and Cole McGriff. of Grinnell.
Students with this honor must be full-time, complete at least three semesters at Central and achieve a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Coe College releases dean’s list
CEDAR RAPIDS — Coe College is recognizing its highest performing students on its dean’s list.
Students on the list have earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the term and rank in the top 10% of the student body.
The list includes Owen Cook, of Montezuma; Kincaid Foster, of Gilman; Courtney Rhinehart, of Victor; and Jeana Quinlan, of Marengo.
Area students make Loras College dean’s list
DUBUQUE — Loras College has announced the names of students who achieved dean's list status for the 2024 spring semester.
Williams Lipsius, of Kalona; Natalie Bemer, of Marengo; and Kyrah Sissel, of Williamsburg received the honor.
A student must earn a 3.5 grade-point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours to be named to the dean’s list.
Goshen names undergraduates to dean's list
GOSHEN, Ind. — Goshen College recently recognized 156 undergraduate students for excellence in academics on the 2023-24 spring semester dean's list.
Among those named were Meredith Blossom, of Wellman, an English and theater major.
The dean's list includes traditional undergraduate students earning at least a 3.75 grade-point average while completing at least 12 hours of course work for a letter grade.
Area students graduate from Buena Vista
STORM LAKE — More than 400 students graduated this spring from Buena Vista University.
Among them was Kelly Hardy, of Grinnell, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and human services.
Jeanette Youngbear, of Tama, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business.
Sarah Shull of Grinnell graduated with a Master of Education degree in teacher leadership, curriculum and instruction, and Hannah Spangenburg, also of Grinnell, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language arts.
Jamie McClenathan, of Brooklyn, graduated high distinction with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.
Rachel DeBoer, of Grinnell, graduated with a Master of Education degree in teacher leadership, curriculum and instruction.
Alejandra Seth, of Brooklyn, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational leadership.
Emma Johnson, of Marengo, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education, and Evan Hergert, of Amana, graduated with a Master of Science degree in Education in counseling.
Wartburg students named to dean's list
WAVERLY — Wartburg College has recognized several area students on its 2024 Winter/May dean’s list.
From Grinnell, Laura Hovenga and Camilla Wright made the list.
Williamsburg students on the list are Landon Jepson and Jesse Nevarez.
Also on the list are Gwen Mews, of North English; Alison Newton, of Blairstown; Tyler Portwood, of Oxford; and Eli Slaymaker, of Marengo.
The dean’s list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the terms.
Area students graduate from Coe College
CEDAR RAPIDS — Nearly 300 students received degrees from Coe College last month.
Among them were Shaylee Dodd, of Belle, who was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and neuroscience.
Jeana Quinlan of Marengo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies, and Madi Werning, of Blairstown, received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
