South Dakota State releases dean’s list
BROOKINGS, S.D. — More than 3,300 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance over the spring 2024 semester at South Dakota State University by being named to the dean's list.
Braxton McGrath, of Amana, and Shelby Cochran, of Oxford, made the honors list.
Grinnell residents Madeline Davis, Jayden Gibson and Ashley Hollingsworth were also named to the dean’s list.
To earn dean's list distinctions in SDSU's colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Area students make UI president’s list
IOWA CITY — More than 1,200 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the president's list for the 2024 spring semester.
Area students on the list are Madox Doehrmann and Regan Sandersfeld, of Williamsburg; Macy Morrow, of Belle Plaine; and Hannah Shade, of Marengo;
Also, Bridget Blanchard and McKenna McKnight, of Grinnell; and Mia Boulton, of Montezuma.
West inducted into Phi Beta Kappa
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Forty-six students at Augustana College, in Rock Island, Illinois recently were inducted into the college's Phi Beta Kappa chapter.
Students honored at the induction ceremony included Kara West, of Grinnell.
Students earn Graceland honors
LAMONI — A Grinnell woman was named to Graceland University’s spring honor roll.
Hannah Kling is on the list honoring Graceland students who have earned grade-point averages of 3.65-3.99 during the term.
Faith Kinkead of Williamsburg, has been named to the dean's list. Graceland University students with grade-point averages between 3.25-3.64 are named to the dean's list.
Upper Iowa University releases dean’s list
FAYETTE — Upper Iowa University recently released its dean’s list for the spring semester. To be honored, a student must have earned a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and be enrolled as a full-time student.
Area students on the list are Demitri Ferneau, of Tama; Chase Wickwire and Deshaylea Pfannebecker, of Belle Plaine; Edward Burgess, of North English; Miranda de Regnier, of Marengo; Alisha Dempster and Brook Klouw, of Ladora.
Neeley earns degree from Central Methodist
FAYETTE — Jessica Neeley, of Grinnell, was among the Central Methodist University students who graduated May 11 at Puckett Fieldhouse on the Fayette campus.
Neeley graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Slaven receives degree from UA
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Stephanie Slaven, of Chelsea, earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alabama.
UA awarded over 6,000 degrees during its spring commencement ceremonies.
