BROOKINGS, S.D. — Area residents were among the 1,500 students who graduated after the spring 2024 semester at South Dakota State University.

Grace Christine Siems, of Ladora, graduated with an Associate of Science degree from the college of agriculture, food and environmental sciences, and Shelby Michelle Cochran, of Oxford, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the college of education and human sciences.

Augustana releases dean's list

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Kara West, a women and gender studies, psychology and Spanish major from Grinnell, was named to Augustana College's spring semester dean's list.

The college named more than 1,100 to the dean's list for the 2023-2024 spring semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.
