College approves nursing students

CEDAR RAPIDS — Nursing students received their white coats in a ceremony Sept. 8, marking their acceptance into the nursing program at Mount Mercy University and their approval to move on to clinical study.

The students included Nikkia Spinelli, of Belle Plaine; Samantha Tinnes, of Kalona; Tori Boyse, of Wellman; and Ruth Jennings, of Williamsburg.

Foundation sells casseroles

MARENGO — Compass Memorial Healthcare Foundation will sell frozen casseroles during the Marengo Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 21.

Casseroles can be purchased and picked up at the Eva Goettsch Dental office beginning at noon that day.

Four casseroles are available for $15 each: farmer’s casserole (hash browns and ham), Mexican casserole (beef), lasagna (beef) or chicken enchiladas.

The Foundation will use the proceeds for hospital needs.
