Counselors prepare to help with Medicare
MARENGO — Counselors from the Senior Health Insurance Information Program based at Compass Memorial Healthcare are ready to help people with their Medicare drug or advantage plan comparisons.
Open enrollment for Medicare Part D began Oct. 15 and continues through Dec. 7. During this time, people can change plans for 2025 or enroll in a plan if they missed the deadline for enrolling earlier.
Counselors will be available, by appointment, at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Belle Plaine City Hall, the North English Public Library, the Victor Public Library, the Williamsburg Public Library and the Amana Retirement Community to help with Medicare drug plan reviews during the open enrollment period.

Concordia releases honors list
MEQUON, Wis. — A Williamsburg student was named to Concordia University Wisconsin’s spring honors list.
Kathryn Sitas, a senior in the nursing program, was named to the list which honors students who have earned a minimum 3.60 grade-point average while completing at least 12 undergraduate credits.
Daniel in service-learning program
PELLA — Kyla Daniel, of Grinnell, is helping Pella Community School District as a service-learning opportunity through Central College this fall.
Daniel, who will graduate in 2025, is working with Madison Elementary in Pella.
