Grinnell woman in Society of Leadership
PELLA — Brielle Sherman, of Grinnell, was one of 42 Central College students inducted into the college's chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success.
Sherman is with the Class of 2028.
Belle Plaine woman earns degree
SEWARD — On May 10, Concordia University in Nebraska awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees to more than 430 graduates.
Included in the class of 2025 was Susan Devereux, of Belle Plaine, who earned a master’s degree in education.
Central College students present at conference
PELLA — Central College psychology faculty traveled with 24 Central students and recent alumni who presented research at the annual Midwestern Psychological Association, April 9-12, in Chicago.
Among the presenters were Hunter Clemann, of Tama, who presented Perceptions of Mental Health Professional Based on Piercings and Gender; Kylie Cline, of Grinnell, who presented To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate: Attitudes and Purposeful Lives; and Pril Heartfell, of South Amana, who presented Does the Socioeconomic Class of a Child Medical Abuse Perpetrator Impact Perceptions of the Crime's Severity?
Goshen College announces dean's list
GOSHEN, Ind. — Goshen College recently recognized 156 undergraduate students for excellence in academics on the 2024-25 spring semester dean's list.
Included on the list was Meredith Blossom, of Wellman, a theater major.
SNHU releases dean’s list
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Southern New Hampshire University released its spring dean's list
Among those on the list were Kacee Jones and Amber Slaymaker, of Brooklyn, and Ashley Kirk, of Ainsworth.
Coe College releases dean’s list
CEDAR RAPIDS — Coe College recognized its highest performing students of the spring 2025 with its dean’s list.
Local students who earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and rank in the top 10% of the student body are Owen Cook, of Montezuma; Kincaid Foster, of Gilman; and Courtney Rhinehart, of Victor.
Students named to president’s list
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Logan Schlesselman, of Williamsburg, and Brandon Graham, of Grinnell, have been named to Southern New Hampshire University's spring president’s list.
Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 are named to list.
Students graduate from Central College
PELLA — Central College recognized 249 graduates during Commencement 2025 May 10.
Among the graduates were Noelia Aguilera, of Gilman, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business management, and Hunter Clemann, of Tama, who graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Also Emory Clements, of Grinnell, who graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies; Kylie Cline, of Grinnell, who earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology; and Kyla Daniel, of Grinnell, who graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
Also Luke DeMeulenaere, of Chelsea who earned a bachelor's degree in business management; Zachary Fillmore, of Grinnell, who earned a bachelor’s in kinesiology; and Daysi Harris, of Grinnell, who earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Cally Gibbs, of Grinnell, graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Wesley Hamor, of Tama, earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
Lindsey Hollibaugh, of Grinnell, earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology; Eli Rose, of Grinnell, earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology; and Andrew Wilkins, of Grinnell, graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
