Central College releases dean’s list
PELLA — Central College has released its spring dean’s list, recognizing students who have earned a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours.
Included on the list are Olivia Bohlen, of Belle Plaine; Kyla Daniel and Brielle Sherman, of Grinnell; Benjamin DeMeulenaere, of Chelsea; and Gabrielle Fye, of Brooklyn.
Also, Leah Bontrager and Braden Hartley, of Wellman; Katelyn Hofmaster, of North English; Crew Klingner, of Williamsburg; and Lauryn Venema, of Amana.
Local students graduate from Buena Vista
STORM LAKE — More than 400 students graduated from Buena Vista University this spring.
Among the graduates were Lexus Whitebreast, of Tama, who received a Master of Arts degree in organizational leadership, and Morgan Fogt, also of Tama, who graduated with a Master of Education degree in special education.
Rylie McAlexander, of Grinnell, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business, and Alanna Holiday-Brown, of Tama, graduated with a Master of Arts degree in organizational leadership.
Morgan Malli, of Amana, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences, and Kristen Thomas, of Wellman, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
Dennis graduates from Graceland
LAMONI — Graceland University recently released its Spring 2025 graduation list.
Annestazia Dennis, of Keswick, was among the graduates. Dennis received a Master of Science degree in nursing.
Mintle named to president’s list
LAMONI — Graceland University recently released its president’s list for the 2025 spring term.
Ellie Mintle, of Grinnell, was one of the students on the list. The president’s list honors students who earned a 4.0 grade-point average during the term.
Kling named to the Graceland dean’s list
LAMONI — Graceland University released its dean’s list for the 2025 spring term.
Hannah Kling, of Grinnell, was among the students on the list. The dean’s list honors students who have 3.25 to 3.64 grade-point averages during the term.
Buena Vista students perform in Baltic
STORM LAKE — In May, 39 Buena Vista University music students took an international performance tour of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
During the 10-day tour, students took in the history and culture of the area, and the BVU Concert Band, BVU Concert Choir and Vista Chamber Singers performed.
Participating students were MacKenzie Beyer, Kyra Bjornstad, Madelyn Dutcher, Caitlyn Ebert, Carly Ebert, Brennan Fay, Elizabeth Franken, Geneva Galler, Cameron Germain, Max Grace, Emma Harrington, Alex Hartman, Allyson Herrley, Madison Hewett, Isabella Hoffmann, Hannah Illg-Keith, Emelia Jacobs, Cameron Johnson, Aubree Jones, Skyler Keller, Nicco LaBryer, Angel Larsen, Andrea Leusink, Haley Malloy, Hannah Malloy, Heidi Merriman, Samantha Morgan, Evan Pearce, Charla Preston, Elaine Prose, Ella Reiter, Sarah Richardson, Mackenzie Schwery, Megan Shannahan, Gregory Stueven, Aiden Webber, Marlene White, Haley Wieck and Daniel Zeman.
Grinnell student graduates from Sam Houston
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — — Benjamin Smith, of Grinnell, was one of several students who received degrees from Sam Houston State University.
Smith received a Master of Science degree in criminal justice leadership and management.
Kline graduates in Des Moines
WEST DES MOINES — Taylor Kline, of Williamsburg, was among more than 400 new health professionals who graduated May 30 with degrees from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences.
Kline completed a Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies.
Pinkerton named to president’s list
DES MOINES — — Tj Pinkerton, of Grinnell, has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2025 quarter and semester terms at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines.
To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a grade-point average of at least 3.75 for a minimum of six semester credit hours or four quarter credit hours in their most recent term.
Clarke University releases dean’s list
DUBUQUE — Clarke University named 240 students to its dean’s list for the spring semester.
Joseph Hall, of Kalona, made the list of full-time Clarke students who have earned a 3.65 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, with a minimum of 12 graded undergraduate hours.
Stevens Point undergraduates honored
STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,400 undergraduate students for attaining high grade-point averages during the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Among them were Jack Stephens, of Brooklyn, who received highest honors for earning a grade-point average above 3.90,
Loras College releases spring dean’s list
DUBUQUE — Loras College has announced the names of students who achieved dean’s list status for the 2025 spring semester.
Among them were Lauren Riggle, of Amana; Natalie Bemer ad Kylie Loffer, of Marengo; and Kyrah Sissel, of Williamsburg.
