Wartburg students receive diplomas
WAVERLY — Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 318 students during Spring Commencement Saturday, May 24.
Among the graduates were Liz Ashing, of Grinnell, who graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience, and Camilla Wright, also of Grinnell, who graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Tyler Portwood, of Oxford, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
PBS to showcase Musical Theater Awards
JOHNSTON — Iowa PBS will present the 2025 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase Monday, July 7 at 8 p.m. The showcase will be rebroadcast Sunday, July 14 at 4 p.m. and for a limited time the program will be available for on-demand streaming on iowapbs.org and the PBS app.
Throughout the year, theater professionals traveled across the state to review high school musical productions. On May 29, students from those schools came together to share highlights from their productions on the Des Moines Civic Center stage and to receive honors for their work in performance, technical and creative categories.

U of I releases dean's list
IOWA CITY — More than 8,000 students at the University of Iowa were named to the dean's list for the 2025 spring semester.
