Amana library offers used books for sale
MIDDLE AMANA — Amana Community Library is having a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 11 and 12 and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 13.
A selection of children’s books, adult books, cookbooks, DVDs and magazines will be for sale for a cash donation. All proceeds will be used to buy new books for the library.
Amana Community Library is located at 3023 220th Trail.
Poweshiek County Historical Society to meet
Poweshiek County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, Sept. 4 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the lower level of the Carnegie library building located at 200 S. Third St., Montezuma.
The program will be presented by Pat Rowell who will tell about Philena's Friendship Quilt. Anyone interested in this topic or Poweshiek County history is invited to attend.
Refreshments will be provided.
