Millersburg prepares recipe book for 175th anniversary

MILLERSBURG — The town of Millersburg is creating a cookbook to help raise funds for its 175th celebration in a couple years.

Recipes may be submitted to Millersburg 175th, P.O. Box 175, Millersburg, IA 52308 before Oct. 15.

Submissions should include the recipe name, contributor’s name, list of ingredients, measurements and clear instructions (including temperature and times). A short story about the recipe is optional.

Recipes may also be submitted in memory of someone.

Training will explain open meeting laws

Attorney Kevin Olson will provide an overview of recent changes to Iowa’s open meeting law (including training requirements for new public officials) and highlight best practices to remain in compliance during the next Turbo Talk from East Central Iowa Council of Governments Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.
