WILLIAMSBURG — This year’s Night on the Square in Williamsburg is set for Nov. 21 from 5-8 p.m., Chamber Director Erin Eichhorn told the Williamsburg City Council Monday.
The traditional holiday event is a big draw, Eichhorn said. The library counted 975 people through its doors last year, she said.
Hills Bank had just opened on the square last year, and corporate officials there said they’d never had so many people through any of their banks during a single event, Eichhorn said. The bank will celebrate its anniversary in Williamsburg during this year’s Night on the Square.
Each year during Night on the Square, visitors get passports which they take to participating businesses to be signed. Many businesses offer specials and refreshments.
Santa will arrive at 6 p.m.
Another opportunity the Chamber is pursuing is a trip to the Canadian Rockies iand Glacier National Park through Lindsey Carey of Exhilarating Gettaways Travel, a Chamber member, Eichhorn said.
Six people attended an informational meeting Oct. 22, but the Chamber needs at least 10 to make the trip all local. The proposed trip is set for Aug. 2-8, 2026.
The Chamber is planning another Christmas House Walk this year, said Eichhorn. The event is planned for Dec. 6 and 7.
“We’ve had a great year in 2025,” said Eichhorn. The Chamber has about 100 members and has added five of those in the last three or four weeks.
The Chamber has been working to become visible again, Eichhorn said, and it did that through events. For 2026, the Chamber wants to focus more on businesses and their needs, she said.
The Chamber also wants to revive the gala and bring back some Chamber awards to recognize its members, she said.
