NORTH ENGLISH — Jacob Glandon graduated from English Valleys in 2019, attended Indian Hills Community College and William Penn University and is now self-employed, creating films and digitizing media.
This young filmmaker has already dazzled many in the community with his fine films showing the lives of people in this part of Iowa, said the English Valleys History Center in a press release.
On Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m., Glandon plans to talk about his new company, Black Oak Films, and some of the projects he’s created at English Valleys History Center in North English.
A year ago, Glandon released a highly praised documentary on What Cheer, and many have enjoyed his film on the English Valleys Care Center, the History Center said.
Glandon recently completed a video on Gritter Country School near North English. This video and other short films by Glandon can be seen on the Black Oak YouTube channel: youtube.com/@blackoakfilms.
Most recently, Glandon has helped with a film about Oskaloosa.
Glandon will also talk about future projects, including his short film Digitized. He plans to show a scene from his What Cheer documentary and from other projects that capture the world in this part of Iowa.
The public is invited to attend the free event. Donations will be accepted.
