Oil program rescheduled to Oct. 29

NORTH ENGLISH — Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sept. 24 program at the English Valleys History Center was rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. At that time, Dr. Tyler Priest will be presenting “The United States of Oil.”
Priest is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Iowa. He is a widely published scholar of energy and environmental history, with expertise in the history of oil and gas.
Priest is the author of the award-winning book “The Offshore Imperative: Shell Oil’s Search for Petroleum in the Postwar United States” and a forthcoming book called “Oceans of Oil: The Epic Struggles Over Offshore Drilling in the United States.”
In 2010, Priest served as a senior policy analyst on the President’s National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling.
