One dead in Marengo crash
MARENGO — One person died in a two-vehicle accident east of Marengo about 8:15 a.m. Monday.
A semi-trailer was eastbound on Highway 6, when a 2009 Ford Fusion pulled into its path, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol.
The Fusion was northbound on N Avenue and had stopped at the intersection with Highway 6 before pulling out in front of the semi-trailer, the report said. The semi struck the car in the driver’s side.
One person was transported to Compass Memorial Healthcare and the other to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the crash report says.
Names of the person who died and the two people who were injured had not been released by press time Tuesday morning.
