Peach takes 2nd at State
Williamsburg’s Gryp finishes 7th
CORALVILLE — Iowa Valley sophomore Breanna Peach pinned her way to the championship round in the 235-pound weight class at the IGHSAU State Championships, then lost to top seed Olvia Huckfelt of Spencer in the championship Friday night at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
Peach placed fourth as a freshman. She came to Coralville undefeated and finished 35-1. Huckfelt is a senior.
Skyler Hoyt (125) and Raelene Hawkins (170) also competed for the Tigers.
For Williamsburg, Phoenix Gryp led the way with a seventh-place finish, earning four wins to two losses in Coralville.
Madison Kirby (115), Keston Spratt (120), Riann Holt (130), and Valerie Altenhofen (140) also competed for the Raiders.
