Iowa Valley’s Breanna Peach, ranked third at 235 pounds, keeps getting everyone’s best shot.
The sophomore gave as good as she got Saturday, winning the title at the Anamosa Tournament.
“Breanna continues to prove that she is one of the best heavyweights in the state,” Iowa Valley Coach Jeremy Kriegel said.
Peach went 3-0, pinning No. 4 Alyson Krum of East Buchanan in the championship.
“It is kind of nerve-wracking, because everyone is always expecting me to win,” Peach said. “And I know I’m good, but I’m not the best yet. I still need to work on it.”
Iowa Valley finished 14th as a team at the 19-team event. Raelene Hawkins (170) placed fourth and Kylie Loffer (100) was sixth.
“They placed in some tough brackets,” Kriegel said.
The Tigers also wrestled in limited fashion in three duals Thursday, winning all three.
