8-player enters second half of season

Belle Plaine 52, BGM 27
BELLE PLAINE — The BGM Bears came into Friday night’s game number one in the state in scoring in 8-player football.
The Plainsmen held them to a season low 27 points.
“Our kids played a great physical games on both sides of the ball,” Belle Plaine head coach Todd Bohlen said. “Our senior captains played exceptional.”
Ty Alcott had 142 yards rushing with four touchdowns. The senior threw for two more — both to Sam Demeulenare who had 98 yards total receiving.
The Plainsmen got up 22-7 after a quarter and never looked back. They are now 5-0 and are at the top of the 8-player District 7 rankings.
For the Bears, Beau Burns threw for 261 yards and added another 121 rushing with four total touchdowns.
Landon Hassett led team receiving with 94 yards.
Montezuma 55, Winfield Mt. Union 14
WINFIELD — The Montezuma Braves handled business against the Wolves in an out-of-district clash.
The Braves built up a lead at half and defensively shutdown the Wolves in the second half.
It was mostly ground and pound for the Braves’ offense which had a total of 383 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Brady Boulton had 118 yards, Broox Stockman had 121 and Brett Plants added 91 to lead the rushing attack.
The defense accumulated 10 tackles for loss, and Luke Brennan added an interception.
Williamsburg 67, Fort Madison 6
WILLIAMSBURG — The Raiders rolled to a Homecoming win over the Fort Madison Bloodhounds Friday night at home.
The score was 54-6 at the half, and Fort Madison failed to score the rest of the game.
Grant Hocker was 17 of 19 throwing the ball with seven touchdowns. Hocker now leads the state in passing touchdowns with 20.
Nile Sinn added 189 yards on the ground rushing.
Rayce Heitman led the receiving core with three touchdowns and Cael Moore led in yards with 78.
The Raiders enter district play at 3-1 and will travel to South Tama Friday.
WACO 49, HLV 20
VICTOR — The HLY Warriors remained winless following a loss to WACO Friday night. at home.
WACO got up 28-6 after one quarter, and that remained the halftime score.
HLV added 14 points in the second half.
Ahead for the HLV Warriors is a matchup against winless New London and an opportunity to notch their first win of the season.
