Plainsmen snap 27-game losing skid

MONTEZUMA—It was long awaited, and took until the final week of the regular season, but the Belle Plaine softball team picked up its first win of the season, 8-7, over Montezuma Monday.
The win snapped a 27-game losing skid dating back to last season.
The Plainsmen totaled 11 hits in the win, two each from Ellie Hosek and Taylor Johnson. After being tied after six innings, the Plainsmen scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh.
Belle Plaine (1-22) opens up regional play at Melcher-Dallas Monday, July 7.
