Poweshiek County lists polling sites

MONTEZUMA — Polls are open across Iowa from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
In Poweshiek County, Bear Creek, Jefferson, Madison and Warren Townships, including the cities of Brooklyn, Hartwick and Victor in Poweshiek County, will vote at Michael J. Manatt Community Center, 105 Jackson St. in Brooklyn.
Deep River and Lincoln Townships, including the cities of Deep River and Guernsey, will vote at Deep River community Center, 701 Main St., in Deep River.
Malcom and Sheridan Townships, including the City of Malcom, will vote at Malcom Auditorium, 212 Main St. in Malcom.
Chester, Grant, Sugar Creek and Washington Townships, including the City of Searsboro, will vote at the south end of the Poweshiek County Fair 4-H Building at 425 East St. S in Grinnell.
Grinnell’s 1st Ward will vote at the west side of the Elks Lodge, 720 Third Ave. in Grinnell.
Grinnell’s 2nd Ward will vote at the east side of the Elks Lodge in Grinnell.
Grinnell’s 3rd Ward will vote in the community room of Drake Library, 930 Park St. in Grinnell.
Grinnell’s 4th Ward will vote at the north end of the Poweshiek County Fair 4-H Building.
Jackson, Pleasant, Scott and Union Townships, including Barnes City in Poweshiek County, will vote at Poweshiek County Conservation Center, 4896 Stagecoach Rd. in Montezuma.
Montezuma precinct will vote at Montezuma Public Library, 500 W. Main St. in Montezuma.
Wednesday, Oct. 16, was the first day for in-person absentee voting. Absentee voters may vote in person at the County Auditor's Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday through Monday, Nov. 4.
The Auditor’s Office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, for in-person absentee voting.
Monday, Oct. 21 is the deadline to register to vote and to request a mail-in absentee ballot.
Satellite voting will be available at Seeland Park, Social Center, 2021 Fourth Ave. in Grinnell from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
A voter may request a mail-in ballot by either completing a State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form or by writing on a piece of paper no smaller than 3x5 inches the following information: Name of voter, voter’s address, address to which the ballot should be sent if different from voter’s address, voter’s date of birth, driver's license number or voter pin number, date and/or name of the election for which the voter is requesting a ballot and voter’s signature and date of signature.
The completed request can be mailed to the Auditor’s Office, PO Box 57, Montezuma, IA 50171.
The last day the Auditor’s office can mail out a requested ballot will be Oct. 21, 2024.
