Jessica Schropp scares visitors to a mini-haunted house set up by The Haunted Barn for trick-or-treating during the Marengo Fall Festival Oct. 18. The Haunted Barn, at 1694 Highway 6 Trail, Ladora, is open through Oct. 31, Fridays and Saturday from 7-11 p.m. The admission fee that 2,000 people a year pay for the privilege of being frightened is donated to veterans’ organizations, school programs, food pantries and other nonprofit organizations and to individuals in need.
