Williamsburg 54, South Tama 14
TAMA — The Williamsburg football team rolled to another comfortable victory Friday night, defeating South Tama 54-14.
The lead was 47-0 at halftime, and the Raiders got some reps for some reserves in the second half.
Grant Hocker threw four more passing touchdowns to add to his state-leading 24 total.
Rayce Heitman had four catches for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Heitman now leads the state in receiving touchdowns with 12.
Nile Sinn rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown and also recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
The Raiders will face Fairfield Friday at home.
New London 54, HLV-TC 38
NEW LONDON — The HLV-TC football team fell to the winless New London Tigers Friday night in New London.
The team put up a season-high point total in the loss.
“It was a tough loss in more ways then one,” HLV head coach Kevin Smith said. “Got to try and regroup again this week.”
The Warriors also suffered a few injuries to starters.
Next up is another winnable game at home against 0-6 Twin Cedars.
Winfield-Mt. Union 60, English Valleys 18
NORTH ENGLISH — The Bears held a lead at the end of the first quarter at 12-8, but it was all Wolves after that Friday night.
The halftime score was 22-12, and the Wolves added 38 more points in the second half.
Jake Edwards threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more in the victory for the Wolves. Iowa Valley travels to Winfield-Mount Union Friday.
