WILLIAMSBURG — It was a comfortable first-round regional win for the Williamsburg girls basketball team Saturday at home.
The No. 3 ranked Raiders defeated Fairfield 55-15 in a one-eight seed matchup in Class 3A Region 4.
It didn’t take long for the Raiders to break this one open. They led 21-1 after one quarter. The Raiders hit five three-pointers in the period.
The lead nearly doubled at half, 40-1.
For much of the second half, the Raiders put in their reserves. Every player on the roster got minutes.
Carly Rich and Ava Hocker were both in double-figures, with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Eleven players scored for the Raiders as they advance to the second round for the second straight season. They’re scheduled for a rematch with Mid-Prairie Wednesday.
The Raiders, now 21-2, have their sights set on more this time around.
